Community Cast Video Day 64

In today’s video I talk about the amazing book that arrived yesterday, my laundry paws, a potential ruler holder project for me, and some of the cute items I’ve seen lately.

The book I am raving about is Headwear: Hats, Bonnets, and Caps from the Hopkins Collection. It is available Here from The School of Historical Dress.

Surprise Arrival!

While sitting on my patio, pondering the heavy Chewy box, the Postal delivery person walked up with a package for me. As I was not expecting a small box at all, I was puzzled and curious. He read off Royal Air and international delivery. My puzzlement and curiosity increased and stomped on my package caution. I was thrilled and completely perplexed when I turned it over, seeing where it was from: The School of Historical Dress.

I remember wanting this book, really wanting this book. I do not remember ordering this book. I think someone sent it to me.

Thank you!!!!

This book is amazing. I’ve only spent a few minutes with it as the vodeo uploads slowly from the patio. The photos are amazing combining full piece shots with close up details. The layout is inspiring, just what I would love to accomplish when I get my winter hood book together.

Just a quarter of the way in, I have had moments of “Oooo” and “oh” and “I need to do that for….”

Community Cast Video Day 63

Today’s video is an unboxing of a winter hood. This one leaves me with questions.

Here is one of the quilted patches. These may have been (likely were) added later. The pieces may have been from another garment that may have been older than the hood itself.

This is that spot of stitching I said would horrify some people.

Here is the piecing of the black side. The same type of piecing is done on both sides.

Here is the area where a repair was made to the edge.

Exciting second video/post coming.

Community Cast Video Day 61

Today, we put the loops on our parasol pin-keep.

Note: In the video I said the livingroom thermometer said 68. When I looked at it closer, it said 79! No wonder I was warm.

I have a second video for you, an unboxing.

Community Cast Video Day 56

Today’s video finishes up the parasol pen wiper with some beading.

This is the beading I was doing during the video. I decided it needed a little more.

I added a middle row of beads and a loop with dangle of beads at the top. I almost want to add a fourth row at the bottom.
