I feel like I’ve lost touch with where history minded people are at with their plans for the coming year, both museum interpreters and reenactors. I have been focused lately on some rebalancing for myself and some projects for myself. So, this out-of-touch feeling is both a good and a bad thing.
I would love to hear what you have in mind for your coming season…. What are you looking forward to? What are you working on? What are your goals? Are you working on something important to you?
Also… Are there any new, local projects or exhibits you would like me and/or readers to know about? Any trends you are noticing?

What a nice idea! I’m continuing to volunteer at the Gold Discovery site in Coloma, CA. There’s a monthly ‘living history’ day where volunteers demonstrate various skills and talk about the site and life in the gold rush.
I’ve got a jacket style dinner bodice c. 1850 that’s been swimming around in my brain for a few months. I just need to find the right silk taffeta for it! It’s to go with a very dark navy wool skirt I already have, and I’d like to find a burgundy shot with navy or a stripe. Then I’ll trim it with the dark navy in silk taffeta. I’m hoping for a deep V front with detachable lower sleeves so it can be for both day and evening. The silk is proving hard to find!
I love your General Store interpretation. It is one nearly all visitors can connect with in some way.
I know what you are saying about silk.
