    The gold ribbon reminds me of the military dress/rank braid that I once sewed on the uniform of a friend who interpreted WWII U.S. Navy nurses/WAVES. It was a total bear to handstitch, but worthwhile because she looked wonderful and did fantastic informative and visitor-friendly presentations. Hope that you find a truly good use for it, and have an easier time stitching it. Enjoy a pleasant, if quiet, Decoration Day weekend.
