I stumbled across something I found to be a fun read in the 1866 American Agriculturalist. The Ladies Column included a full year through the eyes of two women. I’ll share each month for the next two weeks (ish) side-by-side. (The excerpts are a bit challenging to read.)
I enjoyed this series and am sorry to see it end. So many little details of 19th century life in amongst the sewing machine ad! Can I admit I gasped when I read August’s entry and that’s what it turned out to be? I was totally invested in the story! Thanks for sharing, Anna!
I am glad you enjoyed this set. I looked to see if there was another year. There wasn’t.
I did a “no way” when I realized she meant a sewing machine.
