In Mme Demorest’s Mirrors of Fashion publication, this style hat is called the Marylan. This dome crown with “the brim turned down all around, very much depressed at the back and over the face.” I trimmed my copper straw version with hope of spring – a narrow vintage green ribbon encircles the crown with velvet pansies and violets in front. https://www.etsy.com/listing/948432782/victorian-era-hat-hand-sewn-by-anna
This edition of my popular taper crown style is trimmed in soft moire ribbon and vintage velvet flowers in a most beautiful blue. I was dreaming of these brilliant blue, fluffy flowers last week. I was so excited when I opened the box to discover I still had them. These are truly antique vintage flowers. I had to pull the past their age wires to be able to use these beautiful flowers. Each are stitched in place but are some of the more delicate flowers I’ve used. Please keep that in mind as you wear and store this hat. https://www.etsy.com/listing/962399567/victorian-era-hat-hand-sewn-by-anna
All of them are beautiful. I really love the pansies.
