In recent years, in the midst of the stress of Regents exams, falls a weekend that acts as a gentle transition into summer. The 1812/Jane Austen event is a sigh of relief, a soft whisper “you can breathe, summer is here.” Of course, this year the event has been canceled in the wake of the pandemic.
