This hat had been developing in my mind for the past several weeks. I wanted to do a hat that was about texture using the grey and black platform. This hat has a sweet scallop edge, a smooth silk antique ribbon, a super soft velvet ribbon, and the fluffy plumes.
The thing is, while I was working on decorating this at this morning, I realized I was making a mourning hat. Those who have followed me for a while know I do not sell mourning pieces. But, this morning I found my hands making one. All I can think is on some subconscious level, I was thinking of the too many friends who have lost loved ones in recent weeks.
I still decided to put it in my shop. You can find it here. I hope someone loves it.
Oh my goodness! I think this is my favorite hat of your’s, so far! Gorgeous!!!!
If I could sew, I’d make an entire outfit to go with this hat!!! =:-D
Anna, it is beautiful! Someone needs it and your hands did the work. I would feel comfortable wearing it at any time after mourning. Trust your hands and heart, then let God do the work.
